Hico, Texas – Hico Civic Club Presents:The 123rd Old Settlers’ Reunion – July 21st – 25th Started in 1882, one year before Hico was incorporated, the Old Settler’s Reunion is 127 years old. 2009 celebrates the 123rd Reunion. The reunion was not held for four years during WW II. Our Hico Old Settlers’ Reunion is the oldest event of its kind in Texas!
The Hico Old Settlers’ Reunion runs from July 21, 2009 to July 25, 2009. There is a $1.00 admission cost at the gate for events held at the park. Once inside the park, all Pavilion Entertainment and Dances are Free. Parking is available inside the park for $2.00. There is no charge for the downtown events.
E and B Fun Time Carnival will be at the Hico Old City Park with Rides, Booths to Test Your Skills and Food from Wednesday, July 22nd through Saturday, July 25th – Fun for the entire family!
 Daily Schedule of Events Tuesday, July 21st - The 123rd Old Settlers’ Reunion starts at 6:00 p.m. with the “Citizen of the Year Banquet”. The banquet is at the Hico Junior High School Cafetorium. The Banquet is a catered affair featuring Caesar salad, marinated grilled pork tenderloin (sliced 6 ounce servings) with green peppercorn sauce and mushroom sauté, rosemary and garlic roasted red new potatoes, sautéed mixed vegetables, rolls and butter, chocolate ganache cake, cherry cobbler, coffee and tea. The dinner price is a bargain at $15 and tickets are available from any Hico Civic Club board members, Lee Clauser, Diane Stone, Audie Wienecke, Sunny Snyder, Jon Bonner, Cyd Lane, Pat Ross, Shy McClung, Joan Thompson, and Pam Dowell or at First National Bank of Hico, Hico City Hall or The Chamber of Commerce Museum.
Wednesday, July 22nd – Old City Park - The Miss Reunion Pageant starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Pavilion at the Hico Old City Park. You Do Not want to miss this contest. E and B Fun Times Carnival will bring Rides, Booths, and Food for your evening’s entertainment.
 Thursday, July 23rd – Downtown & Old City Park - Mark your calendar and come to downtown for the annual Parade! The Parade starts at 7:00 p.m. After the Parade at 8:30 p.m., D.W. Friday, July 24th – Old City Park – This is a very special time at the Old Settlers’ Reunion – It’s the Talent Show! Carnival Rides, Booths, and Food.
Saturday, July 25th – Old City Park - Put on your dancing boots and Dance to the Music of Durwood Strube/Texas Best! starting at 9:00 p.m. in the Main Pavilion at the park. Carnival Rides, Booths, and Food.
Saturday, July 25th - As a special treat, starting at 11:00 a.m., “A Retrospect of Hico” -a photographic and narrative exhibit of early Hico, from the 1880’s to the 1920’s, at Blue Star Home on the second floor in Historic Downtown Hico.
